For example, on January 31st, 2017, YouTuber Kadz used the meme in a Replacement Remix of Let It Grow, gaining over 1.2 million views (shown below, left). The meme evolved to appear in different contexts. On November 12th, 2016, YouTuber Mitchell Westphall posted a compilation of Vines featuring the quote, gaining over 150,000 views (shown below, right). On September 25th, YouTuber Kauntix uploaded a Vine compilation of memes using the quote, gaining over 1.4 million views (shown below, left). The quote became popularly used in "fail" clips on Vine and YouTube in 2016. You see someone that you know, and they ask you how you are, and you just have to say that you're fine, when you're not really fine, but you just can't get into it because they would never understand. As of January 2021, the original interview has over 1.1 million views on YouTube. ![]() The interview was uploaded to YouTube on November 10th, 2014 by user Alex Hill (shown below). The quote comes from an interview with Katy Perry on a 2014 episode of The Project, as she explains sharing negative emotions. Talking about how you feel and having someone listen can feel self-indulgent at first, but it’s a huge part of the healing process. Over time, the quote became popularized when edited in fail videos on Vine and YouTube.
